5/13/2010 8:55:30 PM - Only time will tell whether the Eagles' offense will be better with Kevin Kolb at quarterback than it was with Donovan McNabb. But it's safe to say it will be different.
Kolb might not have the gun that McNabb had, but he's a rhythm passer who gets the ball out quickly and is extremely accurate. Under Kolb, the Eagles likely will become a more traditional West Coast offense, heavier on short and intermediate routes like slants, curls and crossing patterns that will give receivers opportunities for yards after the catch, and lighter on the deep throws that were McNabb's greatest strength.
"The yards after the catch are going to be a big part of our offense," Kolb said. "I know this group (of receivers) will make the plays if I give them the chance to do so."
